Drag single blocks or grab a group. Moved blocks' times adjust automatically.
When your shoot day changes, your schedule needs to change with it. Dayframe lets you rearrange blocks by dragging them, and the moved blocks' times adjust automatically to match their new position.
Moving a single block
- Click and hold the block you want to move.
- Drag it to a new position on the timeline.
- Release. The block snaps into its new position, and its start/end times adjust to match where you dropped it. Surrounding blocks are not affected. Blocks can overlap on the same lane.
Moving a group of blocks
- Select multiple blocks using one of two methods:
- Shift+click — hold Shift and click each block you want to select.
- Marquee select — click and drag in a blank area of the timeline to draw a selection box around multiple blocks.
- Drag the group to a new position.
- All selected blocks move together, and their times adjust to match the new position. Other blocks on the timeline are not affected.
Moving blocks between lanes
Drag a block horizontally from one lane to another. This is useful when a task shifts between departments, like moving a setup block from Camera + G&E to Sound.
Tips
- When you move blocks, only the moved blocks' times update. Surrounding blocks stay where they are, so you can overlap blocks on the same lane if needed. Keep an eye on your timeline to make sure nothing conflicts.
- If you make a mistake, hit Undo in the toolbar (or Ctrl/Cmd+Z) to revert.
